Bolshakovo LW transmitter switched off

Yesterday this transmiiter was switched off forever. Here you can listen to its final minutes of operation on 171 kHz, as received in south Poland with typically low modulation and Polish R.1 heard underneath.

Beware: This was, as correctly displayed on the original Youtube page, six years ago, in 2014. And it were a mere 75 kW, a far cry from the earlier days of high power operation. At least for some time the Tayfun amplifier blocks were also on 171 kHz run at full 2500 kW. Zehlendorf six Kilohertz up was 150 kilometres away no real hindrance, with its rather low modulation and tinny (200…4500 Hz) modulation… (Kai Ludwig)
